2026 Tesla Model Y Performance Launches in U.S. for Under $60,000
The Performance trim has been available to order in Europe since August, but the automaker just began accepting orders in the United States.
Tesla is now taking orders for the U.S. version of the Model Y Performance.
Pricing for the updated Model Y Performance starts at $59,130, but it’s no longer eligible for the $7500 federal tax credit that has now expired.
Tesla’s website says that the first deliveries of the new performance trim will happen in December.
Tesla officially launched a facelifted version of its popular Model Y SUV at the start of 2025, but the refresh did not immediately include an updated version of the top Performance model. That didn’t arrive until late in August, when the brand began taking orders for the Model Y Performance in Europe. It’s finally our turn, with Tesla today launching the updated MYP for the U.S. market.
Now that the brand is taking orders, we’ve got confirmation on the pricing. The Performance trim starts at $59,130, making it about $10,000 more than the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version. Aside from performance upgrades, the top trim also comes with updated designs to the bumpers, more bolstering for the seats, and a 16-inch display (up from 15.4).

Tesla estimates the new MYP can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, with the SUV limited to a top speed of 155 mph. For reference, the 2020 Model Y Performance we tested took 3.6 ticks to hit 60 mph. In addition to extra power, the Performance trim has an updated suspension, which it borrows from the Model 3 Performance. The track width is staggered, and the compact SUV rides on a set of 21-inch “Arachnid” wheels.
The EPA estimated range for the hi-po variant comes out to 308 miles, down from 327 in the Long Range All-Wheel Drive and 357 in the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive versions. According to the Tesla website, the earliest U.S. deliveries right now are expected for December 2025.
