Bentley Teases the Return of the Continental GT Supersports
A new teaser image shows a Continental GT with a rear wing and a more aggressively styled rear bumper, hinting at a high-performance model.

Bentley is teasing a new performance-focused Continental GT, and we think it’s the return of the Supersports model.
The teaser image shows a more angular rear bumper, vents behind the rear wheels, and a wing mounted to the rear decklid.
Reports suggest that the new Supersports could ditch the hybrid system for a lightweight rear-wheel-drive setup.
The Bentley Continental GT is no slouch. The fourth generation launched in 2025 in the Speed trim, producing 771 horsepower from a hybrid powertrain that pairs a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with an electric motor. Bentley has since unveiled a slightly tamer base model, the hybrid powertrain detuned to a still punchy 671 hp. But now the British automaker appears set to raise the bar once again, teasing a new high-powered Continental GT that could signal the return of the Supersports nameplate.
Bentley hasn’t yet specified what this new Continental GT model is, but several clues point to a new Supersports. “The return of an iconic name to Bentley is imminent, 100 years after it was first introduced,” Bentley said in a press release. And, shocker, the Supersports name originated in 1925 on a racing version of the 3 Litre.

The teaser image shows a restyled rear end, which appears to sport a rear wing above the bejeweled taillights and even a set of angular vents just behind the rear wheels. The bumper is also reworked, seemingly sporting a more pronounced diffuser, sharper edges, and quad exhaust tips.
Bentley says this model will be rare and also says that it is “raring to perform.” It’s unclear what exactly Bentley has planned for this model, but Autocar has reported that the Supersports will skip the electric motor while retaining the V-8 engine. The V-8 engine’s output would be boosted to well over 600 hp, the report states, while the removal of the e-motor would make the Supersports rear-wheel-drive only.

The last Continental GT Supersports, in 2018, had a W-12 engine.
This would likely help the model shave off a ton of weight compared to hybrid all-wheel-drive Continental GTs. Bentley is also expected to employ other weight-saving measures, possibly including carbon-fiber bodywork and the removal of the rear seats.
Bentley hasn’t announced when the Supersports will be revealed, hinting that we will see it “in due course,” but we expect a full unveiling before the end of the year. This will be the first Supersports model since 2018, back when it still packed a W-12 engine.
