I thought it was just another long work drive. But one quick stop on the side of the road completely changed my day — and maybe my whole winter.
There he was — a tiny gray-and-white kitten, sitting all alone in the dust, trembling, eyes wide and lost. I expected him to dart away the second I opened my car door…
But instead, he ran straight into my arms.
No mom, no siblings, no one around. Just a fragile little heartbeat pressed against my chest — like he had finally found where he belonged.
From that moment, everything changed. He’s been nothing but sweet and affectionate since: eating like a champ, using the litter box like a pro, and already purring nonstop. After a few flea baths with Dawn, he finally looks comfy and clean — though his little tummy is still settling.
We’ve got a vet visit lined up this week to make sure everything’s okay (and to double-check that he’s actually a “he”!). He’s around six to eight weeks old, already munching on wet food and kitten kibble like a big boy.
It’s wild how quickly he’s adapted — it’s like he knew this was home all along.
Funny enough, just last week I told a friend I needed a new hobby to get me through the winter.
Looks like one found me first. 💛
